Junior Zoo Crew Volunteer Program

An exciting way for students, age 14 to 18 years, to explore the possibilities of careers in zoo and aquarium sciences. This program will further students’ interests, explore career goals, and develop interpretive skills in a professional zoological environment. Program limited to just 20 teen volunteers each summer. Camp Dragonfly: A Grief Camp for Children & Adolescents

If your child is between the ages of 8 and 12 and has experienced a significant loss in the last two years, he or she may qualify for Camp Dragonfly, a weekend retreat led by professional clinicians and trained staff and sponsored by Home Hospice of Grayson, Cooke and Fannin Counties. The cost is $25 for the weekend. Scholarships are available. Applications are available by calling Jolene Senek at 903-868-9315. Completed applications are reviewed and parents notified. We all grieve in our own way, however children grieve differently than adults. Some children have behavior problems, struggle with school work, become argumentative or fearful, hesitate to be away from a parent, or don’t want to be alone. All activities at Camp Dragonfly are designed to help children heal. “Camp is about life and living,” said director Jolene Senek, LBSW, CT, GC-C. “What they learn here can last a lifetime.”
