Strategizing for Regional Growth

The Community & Economic Development Program (CED) at the Texoma Council of Governments administers several grant-funded programs that address development in the Texoma region. This includes serving as the Economic Development District for Texoma (EDD) , a designation awarded by the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration, working to engage the region in comprehensive economic development planning to strategize for growth in our area. CED staff also serve as the support staff for the Texoma Regional Review Committee that sets the scoring criteria for “non-entitlement” communities seeking Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for projects in their community.

Comprehensive Economic Development Strategies (CEDS)

As the EDA designated Economic Development District for Texoma, TCOG facilitates the creation of a 5  year regional planning document known as the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategies or CEDS. This document is created through the collection of economic data for the region, which is then analyzed by our CEDS Committee. The committee is made up of key stakeholders from Fannin, Grayson, and Cooke Counties and is responsible for recommending key strategies for the region to stimulate economic growth. The new 2017-22 Texoma CEDS will be available July 2017.
Economic Development Business Survey
As part of the creations of CEDS it is necessary to collect local data that is not available through secondary sources. One way this is accomplished is through the completion of surveys by local business stakeholders. Your input is invaluable to us. By "clicking here" and completing this 10 minutes survey you will be a vital part of helping us understand the local and regional economy through an insider boots on the ground perspective. Thank you for your time and input.
