2011-2015 Texoma Needs Assessment
The 2011-2015 Texoma CNA is a research study that assesses and analyzes the conditions of poverty in Cooke, Fannin, and Grayson Counties in an attempt to understand the most critical needs facing low-income Texomans. Requirements set by the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Act dictate that each county in the Texoma region be compartmentalized into three separate studies, even though the CNA is understood as a “regional” assessment. Research for this CNA was conducted to meet the guidelines and requirements of Community Needs Assessment guidance packet that was provided to the Texoma Council of Governments by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA). This assessment combines various qualitative methods of study to gather data about the impoverished and critical services in Texoma.
The information gathered in this report can be used in a variety of ways such as justifying grants, designing new local programs, promoting collaboration among local agencies and businesses, and supporting funders in decision making.
