Caregiver Services
Almost 26 million family caregivers provide care to adults (aged 18+) with a disability or chronic illness, and 5 million informal caregivers provide care for older adults aged 50+ with dementia. This program offers a monthly support group, monthly newsletter and resource center offering information, counseling and material to teach about how to manage caregiver stress in positive ways.
Parkinson's Disease Program
The Texoma Chapter of the Parkinson’s Disease Caregiver Support Group meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month to discuss the issues people with Parkinson’s (and their families) face each day: how to manage the symptoms, medications, emotions, family responsibilities. This group consists of those diagnosed with the disease and their caregivers.
Alzheimer's Disease Program
The Caregiver Support Group meets monthly to discuss issues of interest to the group; this communication with others experiencing the same thing can be invaluable to caregivers of Alzheimer’s patients. Speakers on topics of interest to the group are invited periodically.
